Graphic: Alleged thieves brutally beaten by angry mob in Aba

Three alleged thieves who specialized in stealing telecommunication mast batteries were nabbed today at Emenike street off Ngwa Road in Aba, Abia State and brutally beaten by angry mob.

The suspects were caught with 15 lister batteries which are the change over batteries that power the MTN mast. One of them have been identified as Bakassi. Police arrived the scene after the mob had administered street justice and took them to Cameroon road Police barracks.

Photos: Police allegedly opens fire at man's car in Abuja in a case of mistaken identity

A man named Tiemo B Pumokumo is alleging that the Nigerian Police sprayed his car with bullets while he on my way from Abuja, and it was a case of mistaken identity as they were targeting robbers. He shared these photos via his Facebook page and wrote:
"The Nigerian Police just opened fire on my car on my way from Abuja. Bullets back and front..God pass dem.. Their excuse is they got information armed robbers where coming from my direction and decided to open fire on the first car coming."

Video: Nigerian Air Force destroys new Boko Haram camp in Borno State, repel attack on troops

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), during a night operation conducted on Tuesday, successfully destroyed a new Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) Camp located between Malam Fatori and Kangarwa in Northern Borno.

The new camp is about 4-6km away from the BHT location attacked earlier on 20 August 2016 by NAF Mi-17 helicopter within the same vicinity in a similar night operation that led to the death of about 300 insurgents. The post-strike Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) mission had revealed that surviving BHTs converged at the new location.

Ogun state police command has released a statement explaining why Chinakwe Joachim Iroko was arrested for naming his dog Buhari. According to the police, Chinakwe who lives in Ketere area in the state was arrested to avert unnecessary blood shed because his action of naming his dog Buhari and inscribing it on the body of the dog was already causing serious problems between him and one of his neighbors, Alhaji Halilu Umar. Buhari Ahmadu Tanko the Commander of Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) in charge of Kakuri community, Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna state, has been murdered. The Nation reports that Tanko was reportedly killed by some yet to be identified assailants. The Kaduna state police command spokesperson, ASP Aliyu Usman confirmed the incident.
