Members of APC ward 7 Esa-Oke in Obokun local government area of Osun State held their by-monthly meeting on 29th of April, 2025 at their party secretariat in Esa-Oke. Also present at the meeting were Hon. Wole Oke’s foot soldiers who have abandoned their party; the PDP to join the opposition APC in the State.
Speaking at the meeting, Oluomo Oladipo Omotosho who was the PDP Secretary of Obokun Local government Area but has now decamped to APC said “I joined the APC for two reasons. Firstly, I left the PDP because we have been terribly short-changed by the government of governor Adeleke. Throughout of Obokun local government, the government did not do anything to our name, whereas he concentrated on areas that are expedient to him or let me say other parts of the State that catches his fancy. We voted for the development of our local government but the governor is behaving as if he has nothing to do with us. As a lover of my people, I decamped primarily because of the welfare of my people and I don’t think anyone will remain in PDP in this local government as a result of how we were badly treated. Secondly, our leader Hon. Wole Oke has left the PDP and joined the APC, what remains is the formality which will be done in this ward soonest, he leads the way and we follow, that is why you see the former Ward 7 chairman of the PDP seated here today.” Oluomo Omotosho said the progress of Esa-Oke his hometown remains paramount, and that is the reason for joining his brothers and sisters in APC to form a formidable front for its development.
The former PDP Chairman of Ward 7 Hon. Faniyi Omolayo who also attended the meeting expressed his joy of joining the APC with his teeming members, he said it is obvious that PDP meetings in Ward 7 has died a natural death and is scattered for good without any remedy as all its members were fed up with the shenanigans of the Adeleke government. Leaders of APC present at the meeting were the Chairman of APC Ward 7 Chief Folorunsho Ogungbe (Jaraegba) Elder Ekundayo, Prince Bayo Adejuwon, Hon. Akin Ayodele, Hon. Chief Owoeye Samuel Abiodun (OSA) who is the current Chairman of Obokun-East LCDA and a host of others. In his remark, Hon. Owoeye who is the Akogun of Esa-Okeland, a former member of Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and the Director General of Next Level Progressive Movement appreciated everyone that is present, in particular the former PDP leaders who attended the ward meeting.
He enthused that the coming into APC of Hon. Wole Oke calls for a big celebration, promising that on the day of his coming to formally join the party at the Ward level, they will not only call a popular musician to add colour to the event, they will also dance through the streets of Esa-Oke in celebration. On his part, Chief Folorunsho Ogungbe the APC Ward 7 chairman expressed his joy of having Wole Oke in his ward; telling party members to integrate PDP members into their fold as brothers and sisters without any form of discrimination as they are all one.
